Theatre Parties

Prior to COVID-19, Northern Community Mediation hosted two theatre parties each year.
The Petoskey Theatre Party was held the second Monday in March,
and the Charlevoix Theatre Party was held the second Monday in October. In June 2022,
NCM created a new fundraising event titled Mediation Celebration. The NCM board and staff
are evaluating whether or not to continue with both theatre parties or
just one of the theatre parties. Stay tuned for a decision sometime after the 2024
Mediation Celebration, which is scheduled for June 20.

Petoskey Theatre Party

On Monday, March 9, 2020, NCM held its 16th annual theatre party in Petoskey at the Petoskey Cinema. From 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, people enjoyed food provided by Beard’s Brewery, City Park Grill, D&W Market, Jet’s Pizza, Jimmy John’s, Kilwin’s of Petoskey, Petoskey Pretzel and Up In Smoke. At 6:15 pm, there was a drawing for door prizes from 10 different donors. Additionally, there was a 50/50 raffle. The lucky winner was Bob MacKenzie, who donated half of his winnings back to NCM. At 7:00 pm, the doors opened for everyone to go to one of the eight movies that was showing. The most popular movie was Call of the Wild, followed by The Way Back, The Invisible Man, Onward, Sonic the Hedgehog, 1917, and tied for last place–Impractical Joker and Jumanji. Since NCM has created a new fundraiser, Mediation Celebration, the staff and board are evaluating whether or not to resurrect the Petoskey Theatre Party.

 

Charlevoix Theatre Party

For the first six months in 2024, Northern Community Mediation (NCM) will be focusing efforts on its Capital Campaign to help defer the mortgage on its newly acquired office condominium. Therefore, NCM is going to take a hiatus from its annual Charlevoix Theatre Party. Never fear, however, the Charlevoix Theatre Party may return. Rather than in March, however, we may change it to a date in October.
