All staff members, volunteer mediators and interns for Northern Community Mediation (NCM) must undergo a twofold background check. The Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) is done through the Michigan State Police. The Central Registry Clearance is run through the Department of Human Services (DHS). In order for NCM to run these background checks, personnel must sign a consent form, complete the Criminal Registry form, and provide a copy of their driver’s license.
Case Reports for NCM
We have compiled a summary of our caseload by year into a PDF format. These documents summarize the number of cases handled by Northern Community Mediation (NCM) each year with a breakdown of the number of cases mediated to agreement, mediated to partial agreement, mediated without agreement, conciliated, faciliated, and arbitated. The reports also depict the reasons for those cases where no mediation, conciliation, facilitation or arbitration occurred. Additionally, the reports breakdown the referral sources and dispute types, as well as provide other pertinent information. Since the present database system was not in place prior to 2003, we are not able to show you the caseload information in an understandable format prior to that time.
